Kissed & Klawed Beauty Studio is a nail and beauty studio at 1851 Chamblee Tucker Road, Suite 108 in Atlanta, owned by Alexis Boles — a licensed nail technician and certified makeup artist who goes by Miss Kitty. Nails are the core of it. Boles specialises in acrylic work and crystal designs, and the studio also does makeup and hair, which is unusual for a nail salon. Its stated aim is a luxury experience at a reasonable price. What the studio says separates it is teaching. Clients are shown how to care for their nails, hands and feet before problems set in, rather than only having them treated afterwards. That carries through to a retail line — sugar scrub at $15, moisturising cream at $10, cuticle syrup at $8 and shea socks at $5 — and to gift cards and branded merchandise. Boles also trains other technicians. The studio runs nail training courses, including a two-day course, through its own academy. It opens Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm, and closes Sundays. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are taken before 6pm.

Alexis Boles is blunt about why she started. "The original thought process behind starting my business was simply to make money," she has said. "I started out as a hustler." What changed was realising how far it could go. She has said the hustle was bringing in a six-figure income, at which point she stopped thinking of herself as someone providing a service and started building a brand. The business outgrew a single salon suite and she took her own full salon. She has not described the climb as smooth — "It wasn't easy at all!!" — and credits business podcasts, prayer, and showing up for clients even when things were hard behind the scenes. Ten years into cosmetology, she has added a training academy and a retail line to the studio. Her stated ambition is a chain: "My goal is open a chain of nail salons so this won't be the last you hear of us."
