Moor Clothing Store is a Charlotte, North Carolina couture atelier specializing in custom-designed formal gowns for weddings, prom, quinceañeras, and other special-occasion celebrations. Founded and led by Mo Akintade, owner, Creative Director, and Lead Designer, the business grew out of more than two decades of hands-on work with needle and thread. What began as a personal craft evolved into a full custom design studio built on the idea of creating an experience for each client rather than simply producing a garment. Every piece is built around three guiding principles: elegance, quality, and individuality. Designs are meant to celebrate grace and sophistication while helping the wearer feel truly exceptional, and each gown is constructed from carefully curated fabrics with meticulous, handcrafted details such as hand beading and sculpted corsetry. Clients work directly with Mo throughout the process, sharing inspiration and sketches that are then translated into a finished design, with revisions made even late in the process to get the fit and vision right. Custom gown designs start at $3,000, while a curated selection of ready-to-wear pieces begins at $1,250. Because each gown is made to order, Moor operates by appointment only, with a Charlotte showroom where clients can try on samples and discuss their design.
