About Obet & Del's Coffee
A mom-and-pop coffee shop and roaster in Thai Town serving coffee, tea, matcha and pastries, with house drink originals made dairy-free and indoor and outdoor seating. The roasting program focuses on African origins, including single-origin Ethiopia from Sidama, Kenya from Nyeri, and Zambia from Kateshi Coffee Estate, plus a Kenya-Ethiopia house espresso, sold in 12 oz and 5 lb bags with wholesale available. A retail section carries coffee equipment and products from local small businesses, and a separate by-appointment studio nearby serves as a showroom for home, workspace and shop equipment as well as events, collaborations and educational experiences.
The shop launched at the start of 2020 in East Hollywood. The owners left their previous work in 2017 to travel, starting in Manila and passing through 13 countries, and found coffee to be the common thread linking the communities and well-designed spaces they encountered. They returned home looking for a neighborhood space with the same feeling, and opened this one.
