About ORO Restaurant & Lounge

ORO Restaurant & Lounge is a Black-Owned restaurant in the PNC Building at Martin and Wilmington Streets in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. It serves dishes designed for sharing, brought to the table steadily throughout the meal, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, plus wine, specialty cocktails and desserts. ORO also hosts private events and catering, and has earned an OpenTable Diners' Choice Award.

Husband and wife Christopher Hylton and Cara Zalcberg Hylton of Hylton Hospitality opened ORO in the spring of 2012. Executive chef Chris Hylton, an immigrant from Kingston, Jamaica, began cooking in Los Angeles at 18 and came to Raleigh from Washington, DC. He pairs recognizable foods with international flavors, using local and seasonal ingredients.
