Owners Akino West and Jamila Ross founded Copper Door Properties in 2017 while working full time as hospitality professionals, bringing a combined 30 years of food and beverage experience. The company began with the aim of developing vacation rental properties in under-developed areas to encourage cultural tourism and a more local view of Miami. Its portfolio includes The Copper Door B&B and Rosie's, which began as a pop-up.
