Styled By Shana is a Durham braiding and loc studio built around protective styling for natural hair. The service menu is unusually deep for a single-stylist operation, and it reads like a catalog of technique: nearly every category of braid, twist, and loc is on offer, sized and priced by how the work is actually done. The braiding work is organized by construction. Knotless braids run the full range of sizes, from jumbo down to small, plus bob-length and undercut variations, because size is what determines tension, install time, and how the finished style falls. Traditional box braids and small box braids sit alongside the knotless line for clients who want the classic look. Feed-in work is broken out by the number of braids, from two straight-backs up through ten and twelve, and extends into layered feed-ins, mohawks, and ponytails, so a client can order exactly the density and parting they have in mind. The boho and curly styles are a distinct specialty. Styled By Shana grew out of Shana's own haircare brand, SBS HAIRapy, a Black woman-owned line of natural, cruelty-free scalp and hair products made in the United States. The two sides of the work reinforce each other: the styling chair installs the protective style, and the product line supports the scalp and edges underneath it, with crown oils, scalp relief and stimulator blends, a bath detox soak, and an aftercare kit built for freshly installed braids and locs. Booking is handled through GlossGenius, with a Buy Now, Pay Later option on appointments so a larger install can be spread out. Because nearly every style is quoted as a starting price that moves with length, fullness, and added curl, a consultation before booking sets the final number.
