The Black-owned, women-led company sources small-batch bottles from family-run wineries not otherwise sold in the US. Consumers order from the online store, join a monthly wine club, or book private guided tastings ranging from 60 minutes to two hours.

Vin Noir Explorers and Importers began at the Virginia Wine Expo in 2024, with a question about bringing the experience home to share. A glass of Marcline Vineyards Cabernet in Mt. Crawford, Virginia convinced the founders that every sip should carry a story. Shunia Burruss started the company with her husband to highlight small, family-owned wineries worldwide. The business is rooted in the Outer Banks.
