About Virgil's Jamaica Food Truck and Catering
Virgil's Jamaica serves Jamaican, Panamanian and American dishes from a food truck in the Triangle. Entrees include jerk chicken, curry goat and oxtail stew, all plated with rice 'n beans and a side such as stir fried cabbage, sweet fried plantains or rasta pasta. The team also caters weddings, corporate lunches and private parties with custom menus, full-service or drop-off options, and prepackaged meals.
Virgil Wilson was born in Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica and raised in Panama City, Panama. His grandfather Eric cooked for Rodman Air Force base and his father Lloyd was a restaurant chef. Virgil earned a psychology degree at Norfolk State University and worked as a corporate manager. He and his wife Taffee opened Virgil's Jamaica Restaurant in 2008, then moved to a food truck in June 2013.
