Tamika started Wesley Styles NYC because she recognized a void in the industry when it came to the guest experience: she noticed that clients often left salons feeling bullied or unsure about what to do with their hair. She wanted to build a salon where she worked with guests toward their hair goals rather than dictating to them, believing that clients should feel important while in the chair and empowered once they left to style their hair at home. Outside the salon, Tamika is a mother and a lover of the arts, with interests spanning music, Broadway musicals, museums, painting, and cooking. She describes her mission as creating an achievable, healthy hair journey for every guest that can be maintained at home, treating the relationship between stylist and client as a partnership built along that journey rather than a one-time transaction.
