Non-profit organization, Women's organization in New York, NY
Women In The Black New York Inc is a Harlem-based nonprofit that empowers women entrepreneurs, particularly women of color, through business education, mentorship, and access to funding. Founded and led by Princess Jenkins, the organization runs free classes, a membership program, networking conferences like Rise & Thrive and Unshakeable, a startup pitch competition, and a mental health series, alongside grant and volunteer opportunities for the Harlem business community.
Princess Jenkins built Women In The Black to close the gap Black women entrepreneurs face in access to capital and support, teaching classes like Opening Your Own Boutique alongside citywide conferences and grant programs. Headquartered on East 125th Street in Harlem, the organization has grown into a hub connecting women founders with mentors, funders, and corporate sponsors ranging from $3,000 to $50,000 a year.
