Book store, Coffee shop in Brooklyn, NY
Café con Libros is an intersectional feminist community bookstore and coffee shop in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, founded by Afro-Latina veteran Kalima DesuZe. The shop curates books that center women, girls, and non-binary readers, pairing them with quality coffee, tea, and a sidewalk seating area that draws neighborhood regulars. It runs a loyalty program, sells e-gift cards, and offers audiobooks through Libro.fm alongside its in-store and Bookshop.org catalog.
Kalima DesuZe, an Afro-Latina veteran, opened Café con Libros in Crown Heights to build the kind of feminist community space she wanted to see: one where women, girls, and non-binary people feel centered and celebrated. Books and coffee share the same small storefront, with sidewalk tables that turn the block into a regular meeting spot. "Black, Feminist & Bookish" totes and a curated shelf of intersectional titles carry that mission out the door.
