About Night Swim Roastery & Cafe
Night Swim Roastery & Cafe on Old Pineville Road in Charlotte, North Carolina serves as the operational hub of Night Swim Coffee, a specialty coffee company formed through the merger of two established Charlotte roasters, Not Just Coffee and Undercurrent Coffee. The founders, Miracle and James Yoder together with Erin and Todd Huber, combined their businesses because they believed they "could do more good together than apart," and this location is where that combined operation actually roasts its beans. The Roastery houses the company's roasting equipment alongside a full working cafe, so visitors can watch the same beans being roasted that end up brewed at the counter or shipped out to customers around the country. The Night Swim name was chosen to capture a feeling of "nostalgia, excitement, adventure, and presence," and the founders built the cafe experience around that same emotional register rather than a purely transactional coffee stop. The company's broader mission is to "narrate the coffees we roast, honoring the places they come from and the people that dedicate their lives to producing them," a philosophy that plays out at the Roastery through direct sourcing relationships and an emphasis on freshness. From this location, Night Swim ships freshly roasted beans worldwide and runs a coffee subscription program built around beans the roasting team is currently excited about, in addition to selling brewing gear and gift sets on-site. The Roastery also anchors catering work done in partnership with Synergy Coffee Catering for events across the Charlotte area.
