Provided Coffee got its start in 2021 as a mobile coffee cart, hand-built by co-founders Cohen and Preston when they were just 18 years old. What began as a cart serving events around North Carolina grew into a full brick-and-mortar shop, with a Charlotte location opening in March 2023 followed by a second storefront in Concord that October. The founders describe their approach around the idea that "coffee can act as a bridge of connection between others," and that philosophy shapes how they run both the mobile cart and the permanent shops: daily espresso service built around handcrafted beverages and latte art, paired with a deliberate focus on building community inside the shop rather than just moving drinks quickly. Customers have described the experience as blending the feel of a "big coffee shop" with the charm of a "cute coffee cart." Beyond daily counter service, Provided operates its original mobile cart for private events and bookings across North Carolina, and its storefronts double as after-hours event space, available to rent out for private gatherings. The Concord shop keeps daily hours from 8am to 4pm, and both locations support online ordering and pickup so customers can skip the line. Provided also sells shop merchandise and offers collaboration opportunities with other local businesses, reflecting its roots as a scrappy startup built by two teenagers with a coffee cart that has since grown into a two-location coffee company with a presence at events throughout the region.
