Coffee shop in Charlotte, NC
Qahwah House traces its coffee back through eight generations of family expertise rooted in Yemen's coffee-growing highlands, one of the birthplaces of Arabica cultivation. The company sources its beans from family-owned farms, including Al Hasbani Farms, where terraced mountainside plots at high altitude produce 100% organic Arabica coffee that is hand-picked at peak ripeness and sun-dried using traditional methods passed down over generations. Qahwah House operates on what it calls a direct farm-to-cup model, working to cut out intermediaries so that farmers receive fairer compensation for their harvest while the company maintains tighter control over quality from farm to cafe. Beans are roasted in small batches and prepared to order, a practice the company says preserves the complex flavor profile associated with Yemeni coffee, including notes of chocolate, dried fruit, and spice that distinguish it from more common coffee-growing regions. Beyond classic espresso drinks like lattes and straight espresso, the menu includes signature specialty beverages, loose-leaf teas, and seasonal cold brews, alongside a retail lineup of more than 100 products spanning whole bean coffee, teas, and branded merchandise. Qahwah House also hosts coffee workshops and tasting experiences focused on educating customers about traditional Yemeni brewing methods and the cultural history behind the coffee. The Charlotte location is part of a growing footprint of more than 30 cafes across the United States, supported by online ordering with nationwide shipping, a mobile ordering and loyalty app, and an active franchise program extending the brand into new markets.
