Southern restaurant (US), American restaurant, Steak house in Washington, DC
A progressive take on classic Southern cooking from James Beard Award-winning chef Edward Lee, who blends his Korean roots with a Southern repertoire. The DC location, Succotash Prime, serves brunch, lunch, supper, dessert and kids' menus alongside cocktails and wine, with daily happy hour at the bar and specials such as $1.50 wings on Wednesdays and a private select bourbon. Private and semi-private event spaces are available, including a historic century-old bank interior with soaring ceilings and a private underground fireplace hideaway, with tailored menus from passed hors d'oeuvres to family-style and prix fixe. A second location operates on the waterfront at National Harbor, Maryland.
The restaurant takes its name from the classic dish that has long been a staple of the Southern table, one interpreted and passed down through generations so that each family's recipe is deeply personal. The kitchen presents its own version as an invitation to experience the South from its point of view. It operates as part of KNEAD Hospitality + Design.
